Artists Speak Out for Human Rights

ARTISTS SPEAK OUT FOR HUMAN RIGHTS is an artistic endeavor to create a need for enforcing, protecting and raising awareness for Human Rights around the world.

Last December 5th 2009, some Artists of Santa Cruz County put together a show relating to Human Rights from each of their imaginative perspectives. The show was so beautiful that it touched us and inspired us to want to share it with more than just our community.

Art is a window to the beauty that lies within us. There is a nobility that true art is associated with, a nobility of spirit, the gift that each one of us must give, to add to in our own way, to the complexity of the human description. Art offers a very unique opportunity to the human rights movement, it brings to light the often invisible perspective of actions that we have and share every day. It inspires one to look beyond while holding on to the desire to make things better for us all, to value our Human Rights.

We are hoping to encourage Artists from all over the world to raise your instruments of expression and join us in “SPEAKING OUT FOR HUMAN RIGHTS” Our show convinced us that your voices must be heard. We want to dialogue with you. We want to see your show. We want everyone to be able to share their talents and perspectives. All of us that are inspired by the Declaration of Human Rights must raise our collective voices. A ground swell of Artistic energy, inspired by the need for all nations, to once again, re-commit to the Treaty they signed, that obligated them to the Declaration and all that it stands for: an outpouring of inspiration, for and about Human Rights.

I think that we can accomplish this easily without much stress or too much time. Are you interested in becoming part of this?

We hope you can join this “Movement”, our hope is to re-inspire the world, one show at a time.
